Individual Length-Fitting with LLR (Length-Lie-Relation)


The term Fitting is often and gladly but erroneously used not only by club makers but also by the golf club industry to describe the all-encompassing and individual adjustment of Golf-Club-Sets to the playing ability and physical characteristics of golfers, whereby the so important Length-Fitting is almost always only mentioned incidentally, as there are neither solid nor scientifically sustainable methods available which have been asserted for an even remotely perfect adjustment.

To enable optimal Length-Fitting , we initially require the LLR´s (Length-Lie-Relations) of all golf clubs in the set. These Length-and-Lie values are, after entering the distances of the contact lines to the sole centre, displayed in Table 1. With a club manufactured in this manner, the test person would touch the ground at the exact centre at the moment of impact. In Table 2, the Lie values are changed automatically as soon as the desired length adjustments have been made, as a direct consequence of the correct and naturally individual LLR´s.

A perfect Length-Fitting requires several prerequisites:

1. The Test-Club components are exactly the same as those of the planned Golf-Club-Sets.
2. In order to calculate the values for short to long irons, Iron 9 and Iron 5, and as an exception,
    Iron 6, should be used for testing.
3. The Dynamic-Lie-Tests determine the distances from the centre of the contact zone to the sole centre.
    They serve to automatically calculate the LLR´s.
4. Test-Clubs and any subsequently manufactured golf clubs are also characterised by accurately
    adjusted Length-and-Lie values.
